While I was in school for my first semester my skin went out of control. I had the worst acne I had ever had and eve though I washed my face twice a day with a Neutrogena acne wash, it still wasn't working. When I got home from school for the summer my mom noticed how terrible my acne was and suggested I try something from the DHC line, since she was using their products and loved them. She ordered me the four step acne healing treatment which came with a face wash, toner, spot treatment, and face milk which all have salicylic acid in them. After about one week of using this product two times a day I started to notice a difference. The blemishes I had started to go away and no new ones were forming in other spots on my face. after about 3 weeks all of my blemishes were pretty much gone. I continue to use this product twice a day and it is keeping my skin as clear as it has ever been. Before trying this product i have always been using drugs store products like Follow Me and Biore because I have never had a break out before. Yes, I would occasionally get a pimple or a zit half a year or so and they had never given me scars or big problems. But at the end of 2010 I started getting a zits on my cheeks which had left me with horrible scars. I was shock and at the lost of what to do. My friend recommended me the salicylic acid face wash. I went to Wasttson and I was quite taken back by the price. It cost around $30 dollars and i have never used a facial wash this expensive. That’s when I saw the promotion on the travel pack which included face wash, toner, face milk and spot treatment which only cost around SGD18+. So I decided to try the whole line out. Review:
The face wash comes with a pump and I usually only use one pump of the transparent light yellow liquid. It has moderately good foaming properties and the foam feels very light and gentle against your skin. There is a light smell….which is really hard to put into words….but definitely to me it isn’t very pleasant. But since the smell is very light it is easy for me to get use to. Though I have friends who really hated the product because of the smell, so i guess it’s different for everyone. After washing the face with it, I truly felt the difference between this and the normal drug store face wash. This face wash leaves my face feel very clean, refresh with no slimy residue (that some times you can feel with acne face wash products) and at the same time, it make my skin feel hydrated and very soft to touch. I really like the way it made my skin feel so I went ahead and got myself the regular pack. I have been using the product for half year already and i just finished my travel pack and a regular sized bottle. About the acne clearing effects, I am really not sure that it works because through out the time i have been using this, my skin did not go back to the way it was before i had acne problems. I still get random acne spots on my left cheek ( yes strangely it’s just the left). But I must say, I am at the age where having acne or even full scale break outs is normal, so maybe it did help alittle with keeping the breakouts away. The toner is very light and absorbs fast in the the skin. There is also the unpleasant light smell that is in the facial wash too. For the acne clearing effect my comments are the same, it is not apparent that it does anything to skin condition, although i must say that perhaps i did feel just slightly less oily in my t-zones. I didn’t really use this product religiously, so i can’t say much about it….but the texture is really like milk and it absorbs well with out putting extra shine and weight on to the skin.
This is a totally smelly product. It smells like fish liver oil mixed with rotten yellow beans. The smell just really puts me off every time i use this, so i haven’t really used it yet. Plus, i think it doesn’t absorb at all. I put on a small tiny amount on to my skin and rub and rub and rub to get it absorbed but it just sit there fore the next 1hr….it’s really very ridiculous. I am not sure about the clearing effect, like i said the smell puts me off so bad that i didn’t really use it. But definitely it’s not a fast clearing product, like you put on the night and put up with it’s oiliness and smell and the next morning your acne will be half gone, that does not happen. Price: 6/10 Over all: 3/10: the smell could be improved Re perchase: NO Over all, the facial wash and toner is quite pleasant, but I do not really care for the face milk and I dislikes the spot treatment. I thinking they could really do a better job on the smell….it’s sooo weird…. If you have tried this line before I would really like to hear from you.
