Body shop body mist review india năm 2024

Good fragrances are like fresh condiments, they add their very own flavor to your mood. I am a fragrance fanatic and love to collect as many as I possibly can or my pocket would allow, be it a perfume or a body mist. Today I’ll be reviewing one of the recent additions to my body mist collection, the “The Body Shop Strawberry Body Mist”. Subtle fruity fragrances are my absolute favorites and they have this immense power to enliven my mood even when I am at my lowest. And no, this is no exaggeration.

So without blabbering any further let us get into the review…

The Packaging:- A simple glass bottle with a spray pump dispenser and a silver cap. As it is a glass bottle, it feels heavy and you have to be really careful carrying and handling this; one slip and its gone. The labeling is simple and pretty.

I was eyeing to buy the body mists from The Body Shop for long time and this time I couldn’t resist after I found that there’s a sale going on.

For the first time ever I was warned by my dad and he said he is tired of seeing me shopping. Even that didn’t stop me. I hurried to TBS at the Express Avenue mall , travelling all 20 kms from my place just to buy the body mists . I was so concentrated on the body mists, that I even din’t bother to have a look at the other stuffs on sale. I know if I look at them I would end up buying. The new range of body mist were not on sale.

My Take on The Body Shop – Shea Body Mist

Packing- It comes in a pretty glass bottle with a small dispenser and a silvery cap.I’ve seen the older versions of Body Mists in plastic bottles, now its glass. So got to be careful while travelling. Somehow the packing looks chic and classy.

There were few other variants like strawberry, coconut, statusma and vanilla.I was bored of the fruity strawberry smell and I had too much of vanilla stuffs. SO I decided to pick a altogether different one this time.

There was a mention about the sugarcane extracts on the bottle and that caught my attention.I wanted to know how its going to smell and sprayed a little on my hands .It was amazing. It was sweet. But not strongly sweet like strawberry. A calm refreshing smell, perfect for office wear(where you only sit in AC rooms and work :-P)

I spray it immediately after my bath on my body and on my dress. I don’t find it strong .But what is disappointing is the mild fragrance doesn’t last long. No way the smell lingers around. It fades off very soon and a very faint smell stays on you. I was disappointed to the core . 🙁

I spray a lot lot(I mean it) before I step out to work and the smell stays barely for 2-3 hours, only a very faint smell. ☹

What I like about the The Body Shop – Shea Body Mist

  • – Calming fragrance when you spray.
  • – Not very strong that bothers ladies with sensitive nose.

What I don’t like about the The Body Shop – Shea Body Mist

  • -The glass packing. I am good at dropping fragile things. So people like me, be careful. 🙁
  • -The staying power and the fading fragrance

Will I repurchase The Body Shop – Shea Body Mist ?Yes, There are few other variants to try.

IMBB Rating – 3/5

This did not work good for me. 🙁 Probably I should try layering it with the shea body butter/lotion .?I’m next picking the Vanilla body mist which was reviewed here, a few days before. I wish this shea body mist gets over soon!!

A floral scent which is fresh and a tad fruity, this is ideal for those who don’t like single-note florals which JUST smell like jasmine, or only smell like rose. This is one of those pretty mixtures which is ideal for entry-level floral scent users, and is well-liked by everyone, because the notes of white florals and peonies are very light.

Rose Water & Ivy

Longevity: 3 hours

If you love the smell of Gulabari and always wished there was a perfume which smelled like rosewater, this is it. Combined with the green spiciness of ivy, it smells almost powdery, but also like you’re in a garden of roses. The spicy-sweet heaviness of dated rose perfumes is not there, making this a good modern garden-fresh rose scent.

Dark Kiss

Longevity: 4 hours

One of those gourmand fruity scents that literally make you “smell like a snacc,” this is not for people who don’t like the Victoria’s Secret-type of sweet perfumes. However, it is a compliment-getting, “sexy” perfume. You can smell plums, dark, ripened berries, sweet vanilla in this sultry, rich scent.

Beautiful Day

Longevity: 4-5 hours

A fresh and sparkling fruity scent which smells like pears and green apple, this is not too sweet, not sour and metallic, but also not so aquatic that it disappears. Ideal for those who want to smell like they just shampooed their hair, this smells less like a perfume and more like a bath product.

The pros of Bath & Body Works’ mists

  • Bath & Body Works is great for introducing people who don’t like rich perfumes to the world of fragrances, and is perfect for people who just want to smell freshly-bathed.
  • Bath & Body Works’ mists are great for layering over other scents. These airy and refreshing scents lightens up headache-inducingly heavy perfumes. If you have a really strong perfume oil which smells of too much rose, or too much jasmine, these help freshen those up.
  • These are great blind buys and gifts, because they smell fresh, sparkling, clean, inoffensive, and are easy to like for most.

The mists I tested out from The Body Shop

Satsuma

Longevity: 1-2 hours

When you’re out on a hot day or feeling sick on a bus, and someone peels an orange, the fresh sweetness of that juicy orange is what uplifts and energises you. That’s what Satsuma is for. This is not a perfume you’d wear for a date. But, when you want a zingy citrus scent to wake you up during a boring work-day, this is the mist to use, making it the perfect scent to travel with. Juicy and very realistic in terms of how much it smells like oranges, this is the perfect post-shower scent to start the day with.

Fijian Water Lotus

Longevity: 4-5 hours

This light and fresh scent smells entirely like water and roses, and in the most beautiful way. Usually, marine accords tend to be salty. Here, it’s sweet and fresh. There is a coolness to this scent which is very refreshing, and reminds you of the air when you wake up really early in the morning. It’s so delicate that you’d think it would disappear from the skin, but it lasts decently.

English Dawn Gardenia

Longevity: 5-6 hours

At first spritz, this smells like your grandma’s perfume. But, if you let it settle and enjoy the sweet scent of gardenia, it’s perfect for you. A musky take on white florals which are normally animalic and green, this mix of tuberoses and sandalwood smells like wet flowers which have dew drops on them. Ideal for an elegant lady who likes white florals, this is a special occasion perfume, not an everyday mist.

Moringa

Longevity: 2 hours

A light and refreshing scent with notes of tea and white florals, this is a green and summery scent. It smells like white and yellow florals, be it jasmine, linden blossom, ylang-ylang, and gardenia. However, none of the notes really stick out, and it just smells like a creamy, fresh, sweet (not in a saccharine, dessert-like way, but in a pleasant way) white floral scent. The trouble is, the longevity is not great.

Pros of The Body Shop’s mists

The Body Shop’s mists tend to be a tad more intense, making them good as perfumes you can use alone.

The Body Shop has scents which smell grown-up and can easily be classified into categories like floral, gourmand, fruity, and such, whereas Bath & Body Works has a lot of generic soapy-sweet scents.

These are good buys for perfume enthusiasts with evolved noses, because they have natural, plant-based notes which don’t smell synthetic or chemical-y.

Which ones last longer?

The basic mists from the Body Shop, priced at Rs 795, such as Satsuma and Moringa, are not long lasting. However, the Voyage Collection mists from the Body Shop, priced at Rs 1,195, tend to be more long-lasting, and stay on the skin for 5-6 hours, if not more. Scents with richer notes, such as Vanilla, and Shea, also last longer. The Voyage Collection includes Japanese Cherry Blossom, English Dawn Gardenia, and Indian Night Jasmine, among others.

Bath & Body Works’ mists’ longevity depends entirely on the mist in question. Beautiful Day, for example, has good longevity and strength, despite being a fresh and juicy scent-- a category which usually evaporates quicker. Scents like One In A Million also last longer, as do Mad About You and Dark Kiss. However, most of these mists NEED to be layered with the creams and oils from the same range to last a decent amount of time. This is another reason they are ideal for layering atop perfume oils.

So, the mists from The Body Shop which last longest, are actually more expensive than the mists from Bath & Body Works.

The verdict depends on what you’re looking for: something which is for everyday use, or something for special occasions

The mists from Bath & Body Works are soapy, shampoo-like, and ideal for a post-shower spritz that makes you smell clean. So, if you want something that’s not overpowering to use daily while working from home, these are your best options.

Barring the newer launches-- which focus on individual notes like rose or white florals more-- if you ask someone to pin-point what a a signature Bath & Body Works mist smells like, people usually say they smell like nothing in particular, yet also a lot of fruity, floral, fresh, citrusy notes mixed together and watered-down.

But, if you want something for date night, or a special occasion, the mists from the Body Shop are more suitable. They have more character, and are for people who know what their perfume personality is like. So, if someone only wears gourmand scents, or only wears powdery florals, The Body Shop has clear-cut perfumes for each category, not scents which smell like everything yet nothing in particular.

Does Body Shop Mist last?

Fragrance mist It has a light concentration of oils and lasts for a few hours. So it's perfect if you're more at ease with a lighter scent, especially in the daytime when you just want to linger of your favourite fragrance.

Which is better Bath and Body Works or Body Shop?

It depends on each individual and finding which products the store offers that meet your needs the best. The body Shop VS Bath and Body works. The body Shophas a much wider variety and is better quality, I believe. Considering they'rein the same price bracket, I'd say Body Shop is tons better.

Why is body mist so cheap?

BUDGET-FRIENDLY. Body mists are priced lower than perfumes because of their lower concentration of fragrance oils. Their budget-friendly price and increased size means body mists are perfect as an on-the-go fragrance refresher.
