Picked this up before last year's two-week motorcycle trip. Of course, with that many miles, things broke and had to be fixed on the side of the road or at the campgrounds sometimes. This kit has a ton of useful items that came in handy. Best advice is to custom build it for your own needs...I removed a few items, and added a few other things to better take care of my needs. Probably used it 4-5 times for myself and another biker that had problems on the side of the interstate. Make sure you also pack away tie-wraps, they really come in handy and are about as good as duct tape sometimes.

5.0 out of 5 stars Wow what a great deal

I have recently been looking for a tool kit for my HD electa-glide. The prices at Harley and Snap-on are quite expensive. I am looking for tools to repair a simple breakdown on the road.

I started looking at this tool kit a few weeks ago, and took a look at the review several things about that review stuck out in my mind, one was the odor of the produce and the skull cap on the outside of the bag. Oh yah and it didnt fit harleys. Yikes!!

I contacted the company through Amazon support and asked them about it. The guy went and smelled and noted yes there is some odor he verified that there was no skull cap on the outside of the bag. And he guranteed me that these wrenches fit a harley.

Then I placed the order that day, and it came the next day. That was super fast. Almost freaky fast like Jimmy Johns!!

The first thing I did was smell it, and yes there is some odor to the product, I would equate it to old oil and plastic. To be totally honest, for the price I paid, you could soak it in skunk piss for all I care.

It would be hard to find a deal on a tool kit this good.

In addition, I just washed them and completely dried them. I suppose if your worried you could put a thin coat of fresh oil on them afterwards. I even washed the bag.

These are tools I hope I never have to use, but are there if I need them. Also, included were items that one normally doesn't often find in a standard tool kit. Including: baling wire, electrical wire, a spare light bulb, flashlite and tape. And of course the regualr tools, vice grips, allen wrenches, open ended and closed ended wrenches. It even has the starburst type wrenches, (not sure what they are called).

And yes, I trid the tools out and they do indeed fit a Harley-Davidson motorcycle.

I would totally recommend this prodcut if you can live with a little odor and can live with the skull cap on the outside of the bag.

sincerely, william

5.0 out of 5 stars Very good tool set for your motorcycle

It has everything I need for working on my motorcycle pretty much. A great addition for the tools you already have and you can take them with you on your motorcycle in a saddle bag no problem.

3.0 out of 5 stars It’s okay. Lots of tools.

As others have mentioned, some of the items seem to be of lower quality, but I bought this to serve as “part” of a set I’m building for my bags. There’s a lot that will not make the saddle bag set (including the roll). I live in an extremely hot climate in summer and the tool roll has plastic to help secure the tools and I’m concerned it could melt. I would recommend building your own set. I couldn’t recommend this set, but I’m not sending back either. It’ll work for sure, just not the greatest.

4.0 out of 5 stars Good cheap and easy Harley tool kit

I agree with many of the other reviewers in that this is a pretty good emergency kit, but the quality of the tools is mediocre. I'm OK with that because they will do the job if needed and I don't have to worry about them getting stolen or bouncing around in my saddlebags due to the minimal investment. When I got my new Road Glide I didn't want to deal with cobbling a kit together like I did for my Softail, so I took the easy route and bought a ready-to-go kit.

I selected the Windzone over the Cruz kit because it has more tools at 30 bucks less than the comparable Cruz kit. I'm sure the quality is about the same too.

The roll up tool bag is a very nice and high quality piece as is the pouch it slips into. The bottom of the tool roll should probably have a velcro flap like the top, which would make it more secure because some of the individual tool sleeves are open on the bottom. No biggie though because the whole roll then slips into a protective pouch sealed with a velco flap.

The multi tool is very, very tiny and cheap and is basically useless. I may substitute a leatherman-like tool I have. The wrenches fit nicely as well as the hex keys and torx. The locking pliers work ok. The flashlight provides light and is better than using a lighter, but that is about it. I may switch it out with my mini mag light in the future.

I saw a few reviews saying the tools "smelled," but mine do not smell at all. There is a light coating of machine oil on the torx set, but no real smell that I can detect.

The siphon hose is a nice thick piece, but seems a bit short to me. No way you will be able to get it to go between two cycle tanks. I guess you have to go from a tank with gas to a container or rinsed out soda bottle or something to drain the gas into, and then pour that into the dry tank.

All in all, for the money this kit is well stocked and should get you patched up long enough to get somewhere where you can make a more permanent repair if necessary - this is just an emergency kit. So I will carry this kit along with my Slime compressor (much better than CO2 cartridges,) and tire plug kit, my EZ Air tire gauge, and my H-D air shock pump.

Oh, and if it matters, Windzone apparently ditched the riding skull on the pouch as mine does not have that logo.
