From the start, we’ve set out to create the most diverse, inclusive and roarsome UK Contingent ever to attend a World Scout Jamboree. That means that cost shouldn’t be a barrier for anyone. We’ve worked hard with event organisers, our colleagues at The Scouts and suppliers to reduce costs and ensure this opportunity is open to all. A large part of the journey is raising the fee. We are actively encouraging all members of the UK Contingent to act together and fundraise as Units and individuals. We’re launching a ‘funding hub’ soon to share tips on fundraising to really help you roar. So, what’s the fee? We're proud to have been able to maintain costs and we will look to reduce fees from these published amounts, if possible. As our Contingent grows bigger, with the addition of Unit Leaders, participants and IST, we can’t wait to see how everyone thinks big, dreams wild and acts together to raise the fee. The World Scout Jamboree (WSJ) is a World Organization of the Scout Movement (WOSM) event, it happens every four years, each time hosted by a different country. We’re so proud that thousands of UK young people aged 14 to 17 and their leaders will in South Korea and we’ll call ourselves the UK Contingent. Our Contingent are more than just travel buddies, they are planners, fundraisers, motivators and mentors. We’ve got a lot to achieve in a short time but we’ll leap at the challenge as we… Think big. Dream wild. Act Together. We don’t just dream. We act. We dream about a sustainable world, where everyone’s welcome. But we’re not just about dreaming, Scouts want to see action too. Our UK Contingent won’t silently creep round global issues, we’ll be trailblazers for getting young voices heard…you’re gonna hear us roar. We know that dreams come true when we work together. The World Scout Conference has voted to award the 25th World Scout Jamboree to the Korea Scout Association (KSA) for the year 2023. This will be the second World Scout Jamboree for the KSA. They also hosted the 17th World Scout Jamboree in 1991. The 25th World Scout Jamboree will be a part of the KSA’s celebration of a century of Scouting in South Korea. The Korea Scout Association was founded in the year 1922 and is now the largest youth organization in South Korea. The 25th World Scout Jamboree will be used both “to celebrate the 100th anniversary of the Scout Movement in Korea in 2022 and to prepare for the next 100 years.” Just as the 25th World Scout Jamboree represents the KSA’s transition into a new century of Scouting, the 24th World Scout Jamboree in North America and the 25th World Scout Jamboree in South Korea will represent the end of the first century of World Scout Jamborees and the beginning of the second century of future World Scout Jamborees. The Jamboree is an event of the World Organization of the Scout Movement (WOSM), attended by 50,000 Scouts from around the world. In 2023, it will be hosted by the Korean Scout Association at a new site in SaeManGeum, South Korea.
Where is the 2027 World Scout Jamboree?The 2027 Jamboree will be hosted in Poland, a country located in Central Europe with 38.5 million inhabitants and known for its warm hospitality. The Polish Scouts aim to engage the next generation of young leaders and plan to centre their programme around the theme “bravely”.
