Does 2023 Palisade have remote start?

The 2023 Hyundai Palisade will hit Australian shores in August, bringing with it the same upgrades that adorned the facelifted model sold in overseas markets.

Hyundai Australia will offer the 2023 Palisade in two trim levels. Sitting at the base of the range is the Elite, priced from AU$65,900 ($46,059) with the available 3.8-liter GDi petrol V6 and AU$69,900 ($48,854) with the 2.2-liter CRDi turbo-diesel four-cylinder. Both engines are coupled to an eight-speed automatic transmission. Accompanying the Elite in the range is the Palisade Highlander, starting at AU$75,900 ($53,048) for the petrol V6 and AU$79,900 ($55,844) for the diesel four-cylinder.

A host of new features come standard on the 2023 Palisade Elite when compared to the pre-facelift model. For example, it adds Junction Turning to the Forward Collision-Avoidance Assist system, and includes Safe Exit Assist, Overtake Acceleration Assist, Multi Anti-Collision Braking, a front center airbag, electronic child safety lock system, SOS Emergency Call function, an enlarged 12.3-inch infotainment display and 12.3-inch digital instrument cluster, remote start, and more leather across the dashboard, console, armrests and center door trim.

Numerous additional features come standard on the Palisade Highlander. These include a Blind-Spot View Monitor, Surround View Monitor, Reverse Light Guide function, rain sensing wipers, Remote Smart Parking Assist, 12-way adjustable driver’s seat, Nappa leather seats, two-tone steering wheel, diamond pattern trim, suede headlining, a glass sunroof, stainless steel front speaker grilles, 10-inch Head-Up Display, heated and ventilated second-row seats, and a heated steering wheel.

New to all 2023 Palisade models in Australia is the Bluelink connected car service. This feature adds the aforementioned SOS Emergency Call function alongside Connected Routing, voice recognition, Valet Mode, live weather, calendar sync, last mile navigation, a remote vehicle check system, various remote-operated services, and a find by car function.

“With a bold new style, enhanced luxury, and additional segment-leading safety technology for 2023, Palisade continues its place as the SUV flagship of the Hyundai range,” Hyundai Australia chief executive Ted Lee said in a statement.

While we're waiting for our 2023 Calligraphy to be delivered I have been perusing the Hyundai site and came across the Blue Link page.

The verbiage in italics below is from that page. I have a few questions about this and am hoping you seasoned Palisade owners can help me. Here is what is on the window sticker of my vehicle....

Bluelink® Connected Services 3-years Standard (enrollment req)
Bluelink® Remote Start (3-year Complimentary Service)

Q1 - Is this telling me that we will get 3 years of the 'Connected Care' and 'Remote' packages only with the vehicle purchase?

Q2 - Is the Guidance package required for using the mapping feature on the Touchscreen Navigation/Infotainment System?

Thanks in advance !!

"What are the Bluelink packages, and how much do they cost? Do you offer à la carte features?

There are three Bluelink packages: Connected Care, Remote and Guidance. After the trial period is over, each package is available for $99/year or $9.90/month. The Connected Care Package comes with a complimentary trial for all new Bluelink-equipped vehicles. Currently, there are no à la carte options available.

Connected Care is a comprehensive safety and car care package that offers peace of mind no matter where you are. Call Center agents are standing by 365 days, 24 hours a day to summon help or provide emergency assistance.
The Remote Package gives you convenient access to features via the web or smartphone app. You can Remote Start your car, use Remote Climate Control (if equipped), unlock/lock your doors or locate your car when you forget where you parked it.
The Guidance Package provides more than just the quickest route to your destination. Destination Search"

You will get three years of everything for free in the U.S. This will include all three packages and a complimentary three year maintenance.

Not sure about the guidance on a 2023 as the guidance on them will be update over the air. You may need the package for the updates.

So once your free subscription to the Remote package runs out, your $50k vehicle no longer has remote start unless you’re willing to pony up for a monthly fee? This is kind of ridiculous.

That's correct. BMW is going to start a monthly charge for their heated seats. It's all about the money.

Well we pay for OnStar annually now so Blue Link will just take it's place.

As long as they don't mind that I only order the service from November thru February.

That is just the beginning. Now that cars have WiFi and are online the manufactures will start nickel and diming you to death with monthly subscriptions for everything in the car, just like airlines do now.

I don't own a Hyundai yet, so I could be speaking out of turn here, but won't you still be able to remote start the car from the keyfob, regardless of BlueLink sub status?

BMW is nuts. I would never pay $17/month for heated seats - a feature I pretty much never use anyway.

Personally I think they should charge $1 per remote request as it uses cell service. In most cases you'd still pay less than $120 per year. In my case, I've used remote request 127 times since I got the vehicle in May, 2021. Then you would always have it available and they aren't way way overcharging you for using remote services.

I use mine 5mo out of the year in our Infiniti, and the heated steering. But yes, BMW is crazy. However, watch many features become a la carte in the near future. Cars will come fully equipped, and turn on through connected services, much like home ranges are becoming. Which I think is absurd, but we're in the middle of a kitchen remodel and currently noted this far out insanity. As well as reading about people being unable to use their ovens due to software issues. Not my ideal scenario when I think of cooking or operating a vehicle.

I have a 6 week old 2022 Palisade and I have the same question, as far as the remote start is concerned. Blue Link operates off of the cell network, where as the fob is a proximity transmitter. Shouldn't the remote start still operate from the fob as long as it's within 15 feet?

Hovtech,

We pay that now for OnStar. We'll just replace OnStar with Blue Link. But we'll get a 3 year reprieve until that happens.

Just keep in mind that there are three packages, Connected Care, Remote and Guidance. If you would like to keep the Remote or Guidance then you must renew the Connected Care. You can't renew the Remote or Guidance without renewing the Connected Care as that package is mandatory for the other two.

Key FOB will still work... I am pretty sure. But connected remote start is pretty standard in the industry.

For $99 a year vehicles should have wifi in them. Get all 3 packages and pay $300 a year on top of $50k for the vehicle and not have wifi is insane.

What is the difference between the 2022 and 2023 Palisade?

From a performance perspective, the 2022 and 2023 Palisade versions are identical. Across all trim levels for these model years, the Palisade draws 291 horsepower from a V6, 3.8-liter engine. This system includes an eight-speed auto transmission with front-wheel drive. However, all-wheel drive is available.

New for 2023 includes Highway driving assist 2 and SEL Premium and up, Parking Collision Avoidance Assist – Reverse, and Smart Cruise Control with Curve Control.

Does the 2023 Palisade have WIFI?

The 2023 Hyundai Palisade is the first Hyundai model to launch In-Car Wi-Fi, which provides Hyundai vehicles fast, secure in-vehicle internet access.
