Best Android remote desktop Reddit

Let me explain some of my thinking here real quick before we get into the apps available.. There is an Android *Pie* based Operating System project that currently works rather well on my Lenovo x220T laptop which goes by the name "Bliss OS" (they also make ROMS). I did some testing on a usb drive today and I get roughly DOUBLE battery life when using this over a traditional windows 10 installation which is huge. My lenovo is also natively supports touch screen and even folds into a tablet view so it basically becomes a full android experience. So this got me thinking...

Why not have the best of both worlds? Can't I just use this OS all the time and then control things from my desktop remotely when I need to do more heavy duty work for school? It would seem like a clever way to be more efficient and save a lot of battery life.

The biggest problems I see here are three things: interface, speed, and reliability. I need an app that can not only 'tap' into my desktop computer, but also do it with a lot of control. This means that normal windows keyboard macros need to work and touch-screen not becoming an issue. A big bonus would be if there were file-transfer capabilities. However, Google Drive desktop and mobile client would work fine, since my Pixel 2 phone has a two year unlimited storage subscription with it. It also needs to not crash and have the inability to fix it without going back home to my desktop computer. And speed is important of course so there is little input lag and jitter.

So what apps would work best for this purpose? Also, do "VPN's" act as remote desktop controls anymore? I haven't done this kind of remote networking stuff in about 6 years (although I'm completely competent in it). I know the term VPN acts more as a tunneling service to protecting people while browsing so they can download torrents safely or maybe browse the deep web or whatever.

Is there an app that can cast my pc screen to android phone and control it wirelessly, like using it as a real Windows tablet? In TeamViewer, I have to use cursor to control the pc, so is there an app that allows me to use touch screen to control the pc?

Thanks in advance!

Hey. My PC is in my basement and i need to have a look every now and then even when I'm on first or second floor, i want to do this via my Android Smartphone.

I tried TeamViewer but i get disconnected every 20-30 minutes and i have to go down to PC to click "ok" one the "your time expired" message to start it again.

Is there any free Remote Desktop app that is working stable, is free and has no time limit? an option for input is welcomed but optional, i really just need to view the screen.

Thanks

What is the best remote desktop app? from Android

I need an app to control my gaming laptop if I am not at home. Sometimes I need to start or manage downloads if I am not at home. So, please suggest me some app through which I can manage my laptop from my android phone if I am not at home.

The goal: program on my home PC while I'm away.

I've been working with Remote RDP Lite but it's not the best. I've tried the TeamViewer you've all been posting about but am not overly impressed.

Anyone know of something better?

So I guess AnyDesk changed their plans (for the worse) and TeamViewer is the same awfulness as usual; despite having maybe the most robust software. ConnectWise so far has been nice but the iOS app is horrible and I still feel like the pricing is high.

So... anyone.... someone? Please help me out here. This is getting ridiculous. Really would rather not have to play the firewall and IP game either btw, as some devices are moved between networks.

What remote control/access/desktop software do you use or recommend, and how has your experience been?

We would primarily be using it for unattended access or remote support on preconfigured devices. These are shared desktop devices. We don't need a quick simple way for end users to install, we need a reliable way to keep the system monitored and accessible.

Thanks so much to anyone who even offers suggestions; it's been a pain trying to sort through all the outdated threads and complex pricing and "contact us" quotes.

Edit: thanks so much for the suggestions everyone! nice to see such a response!

Looking for a remote desktop program that supports android to be able to use my PC from my phone when I'm away or if I'm just to lazy to get off of my bed to do a quick task. Also would prefer if it had keyboard support to be able to use shortcuts and such. Any reccomendations would be appreciated
